Overheard at front parking lot of Armadale PS...

Little Boy (to his big sis): Do I have to go to school today?

Big Sis: Yeah.

Little Boy: But WHY??

Big Sis: So that you can get smart and become a policeman when you're bigger and shoot people.  (

Little Boy: *SIGH*.......

Funny but a little disturbing at the same time!

SOOOOO............

it's been awhile. probably my longest xanga hiatus thus far. i believe all my faithful readers (if ever i had any) have all dissipated into thin air by now... but that's alright! i write for my own therapeutic, procrastinatory purposes.

[in recent news...] i wrote a short story for my contemporary canadian women's lit class - the first time i've attempted anything creative-writing since high school. the idea for it was based on a personal experience namely because that experience was the first thing that popped into my head when i sat down to write this thing. creative writing is a random, bizarre business. anyhoo, when it was done, it sounded like garbage but i had to hand it in 'cause that was all i got! so yesterday, i get this email from my prof asking me to come in to her office today to talk to her about my story. seriously thought she was going to bash it and say how horribly incoherent and nonsensical it was... 'cause if it was good, she most likely would've asked me to read a portion of it in class or show it around like she asked a lot of other people who wrote amazing stories/poems in the class to do. one girl even wrote a poem and had her bro (who apparently is a musical genius while she is not) make up a tune and sing/record it... which was pretty neat. so i went... all nervous that i'd failed and thinking she was going to try to put it to me in a nice way- maybe get me to do a seminar instead. but *big sigh of relief* nope! she just had some questions about where some of the details of the story (setting, time period) came from. so yes... no fail-age of any kind happened today. woo! and she said i'd get an 'A'. double woo! i guess incoherent and nonsensical works in creative writing... probably falls under "creative". i know this little blurb probably sounds like i'm gloating... but please- allow me to revel! As are like little rare gems for me in this field.

I'm doing my placement right now with a grade 3 class at Bennington Heights ES and I just have to say... they're sooo cuuute!

Cute Scenario #1: Today, during music class, the kids were practicing their song & dance for the Christmas concert next week. The teacher was trying to organize where the kids would stand and she said, "I want the tall people standing at the back and the lesser tall people standing at the front." Then, this one girl calls out, "I'm a lesser tall people!" while shimmying her way up to the front-middle section. heehee! What an attention-seeker.

I've also realized that teachers are just big children. But I guess you sort of have to be.. if you're going to hang around those little "piglets" (as my Host Teacher calls them) all day.

It's raining. A LOT. Neverending *drizzle drizzle* *drip drip*. Grrrrr... I hate K-Town weather.

But in other (more happy) news...got tickets to see:

Wicked

Booyah... caaaaaan't waaaaaaiiitt!!! I read the book last year for fantasy lit and loved it. Hopefully the musical will be just as grand.   Although... our seats are pretty craptastic (mezzanine-row 'w'). Sigh... this is what we get for spending all our moneys on useless (that's right, useless) academics.

Guess it's time to bust out them binoculars...

My New Obsession...

So lately (thanks to YouTube), I've been watching all these Korean dramas... and I came across one that I'd recommend anyone to watch if you're ever bored or need something to feed that procrastinitic bug.

AKA. The Vineyard Man

I know... it's the typical romantic comedy - girl lives in city, girl goes to country, meets a nice country boy and falls in love. But still... who doesn't like a funny love story once in awhile? Sigh. Oh Man Seok is my new favourite, swoon-worthy actor. He's not your typical McDreamy... but there's something very boyish and honest about him that I like. If only such kind-hearted guys like his character grew on trees and fell in front of me...although even if they did, I'd probably be too dumb to notice .

"ni dee~ jin da!"    heeheeheehee!
